This was another great book to the series they just keep getting better and better The story continues with Khatz who gets a phone call to look after two humans Aston and his friend when he realizes who the caller is, Reese sounding desperate Khatz and his mate Noah agree and set off to Reese s house Reese sounded he had something important to do After what happened to Ashton recently from being raped by 5 men he didn t want him being alone Noah s sympathetic for a happened to Ashton This weaves a story involving them all again and was hard to put down. This is a book and series which is better read after the previous book just so you know who the characters are and how they fit in to the story.

I m so in love with this series I think every time I finished a book, I feel like was my favorite It keeps improving with each book This one was amazing. It won t work as a standalone, it has to be read in the correct order to understand the position the character are when the book begin In this one it was great to see the perfect clash of the main characters stories, previously it only had been separate stories with, mostly just the world they live in, in common, but here the stories get connected and it s just great to see the characters interact with other people, to imagine how they would react and to wonder how much they are willing to risk to protect their love ones I just loved it.It take enough time with each couple, so I guess other reader would enjoy reading about their favorite couple, since both Khaz and Noah, and Reese and Ashton are feature in the book I m still missing Elias, but I was happy with the few moments he was on page and even if it wasn t much, his presence is still an important part of the plot, what an amazing character who doesn t even need to be in the book that much and yet he manage to alter the events. What I enjoyed the most in the book was Khaz, after Elias he s become my favorite character In this book particularly, because he was very melancholic, it was heartbreaking to see how much he suffer and how hard he try to make things better I just hated Noah s attitude, I understand why he felt that way but I couldn t help to get mad at him.In terms of plot, this was very good, maybe the best so far, but I have a hard time thinking about the plot of just one book, because I see the series as a whole, but the way the stories were connected was something I really loved It also had great action moments Is less violent than other parts of the series It doesn t have much romantic moments between the character but the love is there, is so easy to see it in the way every one of them act, it was lovely to see how much they care for each other. In general, another fantastic book, I can t get enough of this series.

What can I say The skill R Phoenix wields as she leads us through the story of humanity s struggle with the injustices and cruelties of the new Status Quo is superb to say the least. To take the very creatures who now run riot through this world and instil in the reader a loyalty for those of them who regret ever lending a helping hand in its instigation shows a talent that offers us all an insight into the thoughts and longings not only of the Supes but those they have come to need and love They are not all cruel, they do not all revel in the degradation of others We can understand what they hoped for then we can understand what they hope for now. This series is a dark read, there is no denying that, peopled with beings that it would seem have sold their souls long ago for control and greed and a sense of superiority over not only humans but even their own kind Take one Elias Ivers, the coldest, most calculating, hated and feared beings in this new regime Never have I met a character that I loathed so much, and there have been many of them that have drawn a strong negative reaction from me before His ability to read people, find their weakness and cruelly twist every good or not so good intention or feeling to his own ends without one jot of sensitivity paints him as the most hideous of men There is no chink possible in this armour of loathing he has for the world or is there Refraction offers us insight as never before, allowing us a glimpse into the Ivers world, one tiny indicator that the witch does indeed suffer emotions of a nature other than disdain even if the manifestation of these is a perverted attraction and a selfish sense of regret It is Elias Ivers, and it is dark fantasy, what is to be expected But it makes him that little bit less godlike, and a little bit fellable. This episode is one of the most just and satisfactory episodes to date Amidst the darkness there can be hope, there can be purpose and action and there can be forgiveness and acceptance. It was a fantastic read, and I am very much looking forward to the next instalment All fingers and toes crossed that it takes me further along the path to the Status Quo s downfall there are hints the cracks are forming but knowing R Phoenix twisted plots and her villainous Elder, I will not hold my breath that it will be accomplished quickly nor with ease I can only hope those I am rooting for stay the course and survive

It would be interesting to find out how why Khaz has the ability that he does with his touch That is the one thing about this series that never really gets explained.Once again, Jace is one of the most interesting and compelling characters in this series for me He s been completely broken now, and he knows it It s probably the saddest plot line in the whole saga. Finally, I can t tell if the Rebellion has any hope of affecting real change, or if it s inevitable that they will be hunted down and crushed.

This book is amazing, there are parts that will make your heart race and think that things might be alright and others where you feel sorry for the characters and the acceptance they have taken on how messed up their lives end up I want and can t wait for what comes next.
